AP Claude Julien isn’t just a Stanley Cup winning coach, he was a great coach in junior hockey as well.
Because of that, the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL are raised a banner to honor their former coach. Back in 1997, Julien coached the Hull Olympiques to the QMJHL and Memorial Cup titles.
Julien’s time coaching in the Quebec league saw him not just have success with Hull but also for Team Canada’s World Junior teams in 1999 assisting them to a silver medal and in 2000 as the head coach of their bronze medal winning team. In his career with Hull, Julien won 141 out of 266 games.
The accolade comes on top of Julien’s 2011 Stanley Cup championship with the Bruins.
