About the only downside to this pending end of Bettman’s little charade here, is the fact that we’ve now seen the last of people like Ovi and Kovi playing in the NHL. And that’s a shame, as they were undeniably “gifted” players and they did bring a “certain” level of excitement to the game here in North America. Nonetheless, big man Captain Ovechkin said he was “done” with the NHL and so onward and forward, tough as that may be. Personally I don’t care, though I am feeling sympathy tonight for all Capital and Devil fans tonight. It can’t be fun when your heroes turn their backs on you like this ? God knows, I’d personally be going “berserk” if Captain Brown all of a sudden announced that he’s now going to be staying in Switzerland and become a watch maker after hockey, etc.
