great news!!!

with the lockout ongoing, and with no near end in sight, I seriously doubt well ever see Timmy Thomas back in net for the B's.

so glad Rask is on the team, now we just need a solid netminder to fill Thomas's void.

Hockeyflow, I wouldn't even say I'm not sold on him bc I am for the most part. There is just that little point of never having been a starter, even though he has put in some serious time as a pro.

Hindsight is 20-20 as far as Raycroft goes. He was pretty stellar in Boston. Nobody could have known it would turn out the way it did. It is easy to make an argument that it was an good trade at the time, trading a prospect (unproven in the pros) for a young goalie who has proven himself and won the Calder.

It's hardly hindsight. He was a first-round pick and was named the #1 goalie at the WJC before he got traded. The jury may still be out but it's hard to see him becoming anything other than a solid starter in the NHL.

Hindsight is 20-20. I would say, to a degree, the jury is still out on Rask. I love the Bruins and I've seen enough of him to know he'll be solid for them. The only thing I haven't seen from him is a full season as a starter. Can he be elite for an entire season and can he stay healthy for an entire season? This year is obviously unique bc it will be shortened (if they play at all). He was on a one year deal so I wonder how this effects things going forward.

Nothing makes me feel worse about being a Leafs fan than this guy. I'd take back the Rask-for-Raycroft deal a million times before taking back the Kessel one.
