Sorry if i dont proof read my comments. Its kinda hard when im typing them on a iphone. My bad. I read everything you written quite clearly and you think there is favortism out there to certain teams and individuals. You feel that certain teams and players get away with more then others. What you fail to do however is have any shred of evidence of corruptness (in the NHL) other then the simple line “watch the tape and you will see all the missed calls or favortism). You find me a ref in the NHL who has been paid off then ill believe you. As of now your theorys have about as much weight as a UFO enthusist. How bad does it suck that more people agree with my statements (someone who isn’t even halfway intelligent) then yours? BYE!

Ok for the record me assuming your a butt hurt fan is a assumption not a conspiracy sooo yea. Im not saying that there arent incidents out there (primarily in basketball) where there was evidence of a ref cheating. What i am saying is that i dont believe the league pre picks its team that it wants to win and puts some invisible force (the refs) out on a agenda to make sure that happens. You completely avoided the question i asked though if you believe in such grand conspiracy in the sports world WHY WATCH AND SUPPORT IT?? And for the record it doesnt matter what team you root for but judginh by your theory if your team whoever that may be has won a cup before then its only because the league wanted them to. You cant have it both ways with your theory where the only legit champion is when your team wins and the rest are just hand picked by the powers that be.I understand everythign is not fair and right but i also understand everything is not fixed and corrupt.

So true. You go back and look at game 3 and 6 and you have to laugh at how badly they allowed Pitt to interfere, dive and grab while Detroit couldn’t breath on a Penguin. When we always talk about little things deciding games in sports, how can we ignore this being a huge reason why Pitt “won”? It’s as disgusting as Anaheim in 07 or LA beating the Yotes by getting away with murder.

Conspiracy theories are alright when it doesn’t make someone question something they’re afraid to question. I’ve seen enough proof that many instances were not human error. I’ve read about officials who point shaved and statisticians who admitted to fixing numbers. Hell, you live in Vegas long enough and you just laugh at people as naive and in denial as you who think everything is down the middle and fair. Kids have the Easter bunny, adults have the delusion that out of everything crooked and influenced in life, sports somehow escapes it all. Right. BTW, I didn’t even mention my team. So grasp at another straw.

If thats the case why do you watch sports then? I mean if everything is fixed to a certain degree and you the league plays favorites why do you support such behaviour? I personally think fans like you are conspiracy theorist butt hurt fans who grasp for anything they can latch on too in order to explain why their team lost rather then the simple and correct answer which is they got out played. I could sit hear and complain about reffing too (like briere’s clearly offside GW goal in game 1) which kick started the flyers winning that series but i wont because the flyers just straight beat us that series. Its human error my friend nothing more nothing else. I feel sorry for you because watching sports with that kind of mentality must be frustrating.

LA is a bigger market. More money. The league owns the Yotes the way a parent has to house an idiot kid with no job until it’s time for him to go. The LA market is massive and getting in sweet would be extraordinarily profitable. Phoenix? Ehhh, doubtful. We all know their fate. Owning them really is irrelevant. And you say this like I’m guessing or hoping lol. This is life bud, nothing’s fair. Too much to lose by letting things sort themselves out. I’ve read stories about egosystems of favortism from organized curling to refs in the NBA admitting to being paid off. Hockey is magically safe from the league knowing which team they’d prefer win.

Agree to disagree.Referees are humans and there is a human error element involved. The great teams overcome the “bad calls” and “missed calls” , the rest are left to wonder what could of been.

Saw that reply coming a mile away. You’re in denial if you think sports are fair. No one’s fixing it like wrestling but the league has certain financial interests in some teams far more than others. And it’s not like Detroit was the only one clearly screwed-Buffalo in 07, Phoenix was blatant this year against LA. It happens. That’s sports. Hell, that’s life. But asking a sports fan to question their league is like asking a fanatic to question his or her faith. It’s too tough a pill to swallow for most.

Little Lord Bettman wasn’t about to let the league’s investment lose twice in a row. The team in yellow played with a different set of rules compared to the team in red. I wouldn’t be very proud of that win. But that’s hockey-officiating has long been broken and games come down to the whim of whatever stripe wants to sway one way or another. Much like LA this year.
