I would feel the same if I wasn't a Wild fan. I badly want to see my team on ice this year but can live without the NHL if it doesn't happen. As a STH, I will voice my opinon but it's hard too seeing as my money has been cashed. Money is the key power we have as fans. Give as little back to the NHL for as long as you can last if you are truly mad.

I am just embarrassed as a hockey fan in general. I am hoping for a lockout now that it is going to go past Novemeber. I always thought it was a good deadline by months end but we'll see what the moderators can do, I for one am expecting nothing to change.

Cheers

Heard something on Boston sports radio this morning about a Board of Governors meeting December 5th that will be a lot more influential than the mediation process. Also heard of dissention among some owners who are upset at the process to this point, and Ed Snider possibly taking the Robert Kraft role in creating a coalition of owners against the lockout. Any word on that O'Brien et al?

I wish it would work like that, bcjim. The only way our cheap beer prices go down is through a one-day only PR stunt put on by ownership to build up "good-will" which they can use as currency for the next lockout. These men value money over anything or anyone. Player salaries can go down and the arena price of a watered down Bud Light will still be more expensive than a six-pack.

The fact is NHL players are massively overpaid. I have no problem with the salaries of the bottom 50% lets say but the stars are way overpaid and a lot of the rest are as well.

The fact also is that NHL owners are funding these salaries via very high ticket prices and outrageous beer and food prices. In other words WE are paying these silly salaries. 8$ for 1 beer is unacceptable and it certainly cant go much higher, that revenue stream is maxed. So is virtually every other stream except TV.

Cut salaries 25% and cut beer 25%. Deal.

Also the players like to claim they gave up a lot last time...NONSENSE they are the ones who made a killing over the course of the last cba. Revenues did go way up, so salaries did too (57% of HRR). Now owners want some of that action, and who can blame them?

I'm glad I downgraded my half season plan to a weekend plan for the Bruins. I will only keep that plan for next year because I love the sport. But I think Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs is one of the main figures in this lockout and I don't like that greedy SOB at all. I root for the team and enjoy the product. But I have no use for the people running (or ruining) the NHL and I hope they are the losers - especially scum like Jacobs.

"Players such as Steven Stamkos hope they can win fans back whenever the work stoppage ends."
unless you are a season ticket holder, you'd be a JACKASS to go to a game this year.i for one will not attend any games this year, but i will watch on tv.
as for the season ticket holders, it will be YOUR job too voice your displeasure for all of us fans that have gotten the shaft over this ridiculous lockout.
