“Still, you can’t help but think how workers in Minnesota and at the NHL home offices, where they’ve undergone a similar slash in pay and work time…” Oh really… sure the peon’s are getting their time cut and pay reduced… but i’ll bet Mr. Bettman and Mr. Daly are getting their monthly checks! The #1 and #2 persons for the reason that this deal isn’t done right now, both are getting paid. Players.. Nope. Fehr brothers.. nope (last pay check was in July). Peon’s at NHL home office.. pay cut. Owners… Yup got a $200 Million TV contract to split up. Local bars, parking, restaurants, hotels, stadium employee’s.. nope! But as long as the richest of all the richest involved still get their paychecks… this thing is just fine with them!

Everyone complains that the players and owners don’t consider the fans but you know what? We have a choice whether or not to continue supporting them and can move on. Other than frustration, life goes on. These people — and the businesses surrounding the various arenas — are the ones truly getting hurt by all of this nonsense.
