Taylor Hall named AHL player of the week

It’s almost like Taylor Hall should be facing better competition.

On Monday, the 21-year-old was named the AHL’s player of the week after scoring one goal and adding eight assists in three games for Edmonton’s farm team, the Oklahoma City Barons.

And on top of all that, he just bowled a 198. (Which is…good?)

Once the NHL lockout ends, the Barons will be forced to deal with a serious exodus of scoring. The team is currently led by Justin Schultz (28 points), Jordan Eberle (26) and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (20), all of whom (plus Hall and possibly Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson and Teemu Hartikainen) will be called up by the Oilers as soon as a new CBA is reached.

Hall, who missed time early in the season while recovering from shoulder surgery, has 15 points in 10 games.
