Kan du talar svenska alltsa ? :) Yes my friend, they do get bashed unfairly. And yet that's often the way, when it comes to society at large and it's response to decency. The irony however, is that if the Sedins did ever lose it, then only God could help the fools on the receiving end of their wrath ! Thirty years ago, I was living and working in Sweden as a 23 year old Canadian immigrant (ie: had met a Swedish bombshell here in '79, fell head over heals, bought a one-way ticket to Sweden myself after she left and the rest is history) and I can tell you that they have to be one of the most "decent" people anywhere. Nonetheless, beneath the surface can often be a "crazed viking" who you're probably better off to not wake up !

väl sagt Blomfeld, I too wish there were more role models like them playing in the league. They are good for the game, fans and the community. People will bash them for a perceived lack of grit but should one have to fight to excel in hockey?

"Bra gjort" Henrik och Daniel !

Absolutely everything these guys do is "pure" quality ! Whether it's donating $500,000.00 to the Women & Children's Hospital, or refusing to bring themselves down to the level of that vermin Marchand, or saying "no" to greed by refusing Parise-styled contracts, these two men continue to set a shining example for the way people "ought" to behave ! I'm an LA Kings fan as you know, even though I live here in Vancouver (ie: that's today mostly the fault of a woman (my ex) and not mine). Nonetheless, I'm very proud of these two excellent players and I wish them the very best always !

ps: if it was possible, then I think it would be great if the Sedin brothers and Jarome Iginla were immediately shipped to the LA Kings ! :)

The Sedins success is not predicated on elite speed, or on physical dominance - they shouldn't have too much trouble maintaining their success in the league well into their mid-30s.

Of course, part of that belief is based on their excellent physical fitness, work ethic and preparation for each season so if they're not feeling it then it's likely that their games might fall off a bit more quickly.. and thus better for both parties to keep signing short term deals.

Then again, the way the cap tends to work (and will probably work in the next CBA no matter what the owners accomplish in this lockout), repeatedly signing the Sedins to one year deals will probably mean that the Canucks pay them more money over the same term that a single long term deal might have involved..
