Right now the players heavily involved in the negotiation process have their heads in the jock straps trying to figure out what to do next, so I doubt they have enough time to worry about us. I will say though that players not as close to the negotiations speak on behalf of the fans, but should focus their energy on pushing Fehr to read the situation more accurately. i.e. give the owners $100 million on players share, accept that players will get a percentage of HRR for the duration of the CBA, free agency at 28 years old, and at least a 6 year deal. Owners shut the league down once before, who's to say they won't do it again.

My biggest beef right now, one minute things look promising, then it falls apart. Things look like they COULD be moving in the right direction, then they're not. Sit your asses in a room until you figure things out. As unfair this is to fans, businesses, families that are financially supported by hockey, its even more a disgrace by the way its been handled. The constant roller coster is just sickening and proves we as fans mean nothing to some involved....and I'm not going to put players in that, I truly believe they love the support and feel incredibly bad for the months of frustration we've felt.

F. H: Hello Canada and hockey fans in the United States and Newfoundland. This is Foster Hewitt live from the Gondola at Maple Leaf Garden. Howie Meeker is with us during this second intermission. Howie, we're seeing the ownership dictate the timeline of the conflict using strong arm tactics. Its been said the players will holdout even though they risk losing a year's salary. Do you put any stock into this theory?

H.M.: znot one tea spoon or pinch of chicken stock. That's just like putting lipstick on a pig. Players must stop chasing the grizzly bear wearing a dress. They're not going to win this battle. Players are used to wining battles in the corners using their muscles, but, owners use their brains to make money. The membership must engage their grey matter before engaging their mouths, otherwise the grizzly bear in that dress will shred them to pieces. Can you imagine these big strong boys running to the owners with their tales between their legs begging for a deal? Players are acting like children out of their sandbox without their toys. They're grasping at straws.

F.H.: so what you're saying, Howie, is you think the players are too ignorant to see the bear wearing the dress, or the lipstick on the pig.

H.M.: I didn't say that. I said the players need to get their heads out of their jock strap and take a breath of fresh air to clear there heads from the stench and realize they have as much chance of breaking the ownership than a wildebeest has to survive a lion's attack.

F.H.: "He shoots, he scores!" Thank you, Howie. Well! there you have it hockey fans. The owners are looking to win big again against its arch rival NHLPA. This is Foster Hewitt signing off from the Gondola at Maple Garden in Toronto.

Announcer:
The second intermission interview has been brought to you by Proskauer Rose LLP. Former employee of David Stern and Gary Bettman. "Our approach is not simply to “represent" our clients but to get into their heads; to understand their business and to know their industries as well as they do. We do this so we are not presenting legal advice in a vacuum but rather with the understanding of how it will affect their bottom line. When they grow, we grow. It’s called momentum. Our Sports Law Group has been the leader in the field for 50 years, providing all aspects of legal service to the world’s major sports leagues and teams, their owners and executives and their marketing, media and intellectual property affiliates.
Hey! If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like Gary Bettman, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, hopeless, heartless, fat-headed, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey S@# he is! Hallelujah! Holy S@#! Where's the Tylenol?

Keep up the great work. Working with Fehr and Fehr must be pretty challenging considering their milking the NHLPA everything they can. It's too bad Roenick and Linden aren't there put a muzzle on the Fehrs.
