I would have no problem with respecting the players, or their opinions if they have the courage to stand behind their convictions ! It’s stuff like this that makes me think that the players union isn’t as strong as they like to portray it in the media ! I’m in no shape, or form for the players in this lockout but, they really need to stand behind what they say no matter what ! SHOW SOME BACKBONE GUYS, DAMN !!!!!

I’d love for that to be true but it’s more an ideal. A lot of the time, the name caller is saying what needs to be said. You just have to know when it’s name calling out of emotional anger or frustration or anything like that, and name calling out of honesty. If you’re being an idiot, you deserve to be called one.

Gary Bettman an idiot? The same man who doubled the revenue of the NHL over the past 6 years….the same time frame where nearly all other North American professional sports lost revenue? I would hire an ‘idiot’ like that anytime of the day.

Ian White only made one mistake. He forgot that when we grow up, we create cultural norms to protect ourselves from criticism. White was completely right, Bettman is being an idiot. A huge one. But we’re not allowed to call things how they are. We use made-up BS terms like professionalism and tact to use as guises for concealing the truth. Sometimes they’re apt and truly necessary, and serve their original intended purpose. But sometimes old men in suits use them as tools to protect from getting their precious feelings hurt or upsetting other members of the herd in some way.

Gary Bettman is not only an idiot, he’s the dictionary definition of one.
