@tatdue – I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying. Yes indeed, F the owners ! … in fact, F all wealthy pigs for that matter ! Nonetheless, that’s just the way it is and nothing the players do is going to ever change that. Here it’s pissing rain today and I don’t like it one bit. So I can moan about it and be a stick in the mud, or I can adapt and make the best of the situation … the choice is mine. The same goes for these players. They can continue to be stubborn all they want and in the process go over the cliff … that’s their choice. Well guess who’s going to be at that cliff’s edge looking down and laughing ? … you guessed it, Bettman and the owners ! The bottom line is that while “fairness” is no doubt a wonderful concept, in the real world it has sadly very little applicability.

@blom – I am on the side of reason….and reason says that so far this has not been a negotiation but instead a series of demands coming from some self righteous billionaire owners who think that because they have the gold the payers should bow before them!…..I applaud the players for making a stand for something that they believe is right!….F@%K THE BILLIONAIRE OWNERS for taking this approach!!!!!…..I really miss my hockey but I’ll gladly miss it some more to see the end of this lock out crap happening every 6-7 years!!!!!

Your support for the “millionaire” players is no less deplorable than those who support the “millionaire” owners.

Oh yeah, the train of dispair is in reference to all the sad sacks who can’t handle losing hockey for a month or two while I am willing to wait it out a year or two if that what it takes for the league to get it’s ducks in a row for the long term health of the league.I like that 30 teams can compete on an equal footing and not have 24 farm teams for the 6 elite teams with all the coin.

I do support Gary, the owners.and the lockout. I do this for the overall health of the league. When Crosby or some others that make even more than his paltry 8.7 million a year, make more than 80% of the NHL teams make, then there is something wrong with the system. Do you not agree?

The way I see it, Gary and the owners have now dug themselves a trench and won’t budge any further until Herr Ferh and the players give. Is today that day? I think not but hope so.If today produces no significant movement then that would mean than that both sides are in their trenches and December games will soon be cancelled. As much as I don’t want to board that train of despair friends, it seems like it is stopping at a station near you, all too soon enough.

Earlier I reported that Iginla stood to lose 14 million over 2 lockouts, and stats he can’t make up for. Another victim would be Brodeur who could lose 11 million over 2 lockouts, and his career stats could be missing 40 wins and 7 SO from 04/05 and perhaps 30 wins from this year. Ouch! Get these guys back on the ice owners and PA.
