@eyeh8goodall........Actually my initial comment was in support of you. However, I think the players should have settled for the 50/50 split months ago. Back in October they would have still had an 82 game season and the sport would have continued to grow past the 3.3 billion that was generated last year.

50% of 3.5 Billion would have made them more HRR than the 57% or 65% that they are trying to squeeze out of the 60 game schedule they are hoping to play at this point.......MAYBE it generates 2 billion.......Maybe....it still won't gross them anywhere close to the amount they could have made now or in the future with how frustrated people have gotten.

But ok, let's just say their pride is more important. If they would have avoided all of this nonsense their "pride" could have patted them on the back in 5 years when HRR had risen another Billion or more to close to 4.5.

Unfortunately not all fans will continue to watch hockey. Some will tell both the players and the owners to F- off, and for good reason.....They've all acted like a unch of spoiled children and the Fehr is as guilty as Bettman of getting all of the children to continue to act as such.

No there's not. The owners are killing hockey, not Fehr or any player staying home to fight. The selfish fans such as tackledummy (an appropriate name given his punch drunk stupidity) are great with blaming the players because:

2) In their eyes the lockout would be over if the players just cave and sign any deal the league wants.

, what is it with you guys who get bent backwards because a prediction is missed? it happens everyday on Wall St, and it's called betting. Big deal if someone is off. Point being is that I believe there will be NHL hockey this year. When? Does it really matter that it's on Dec 1, 2, 3 15, 31. Big deal. 94/95 season started in Jan. Are the players stupid enough to lose a year's salary? Are the owners stupid enough to hurt the game with a second lockout in 7 years? I believe the answer is NO to both. I have no idea what they are going to talk on Monday, and frankly don't give a crap. I'm on niether side of the table because I have no incentive to take sides. However, it's damn obvious the owners have the upper hand here. The owners can take a financial hit much more than the players if the season were to be canceled. The value of a franchise will continue increase overtime, whereas a players value will eventually be rock bottom. Doesn't take a f en genius to make that assessment. Surely even you can. So the owners will make up whatever they lose, but the players will not.

Crosby may very well be the player's voice in this lockout, but that is not a good thing. It may be a good thing for a mature and responsible leader of the players (A Steve Yzerman type for example, if he were still playing) who is universally respected, but when has Crosby been that? The penguins were playing great hockey last year til he came back and their defense disappeared. In previous years he's batted equipment on the ice away from opponents after a scrum, whined at refs and otherwise lived up to his "cry baby" reputation.

Throw in the fact that the very type of contract the NHL is trying to prevent from recurring are the long term back loaded contracts - like the one he signed this summer and do you really think he has anyone's interests at heart aside from his own?

So do we give Ed Snider the thanks for pushing the owners, the NHL and NHLPA to the talking table? No lets give it to Sidney Crosby who flicking boogers across a table saying, "I want all my money this year, even though I'm only playing 60% of the year." lol what a joke this whole thing has become and the fact still remains if the players do get the 73% HRR, then you all can kiss good-bye half the league. Then I'll be laughing at all the cities that took the players side, yet they have no hockey team anymore, because the league can't sustain them lol.

You're an idiot, the reason why there is no hockey is because of these representatives and Sidney Crosby. I guess Crosby is one of the contributors saying they want their revenue guaranteed for the season lol. You're a tool and you have no idea what is going on. If Giroux actually gets a contract, because the way I see it, hockey is dying slowly and it's only a matter of time when he holds up his contract over seas and says, "Hey Crosby, thanks for the cents I have to settle for, since you and the Fehr brothers killed hockey at home, where I could've made 10 times more money. Thanks though for staying on the home front though." lol

ATTENTION FRIENDS !!!

Please note that someone has now begun posting here under the erroneous names of “blomfelb” and “Ib4joey” ! Of course these names are fake and they should in no way be confused with either “yours truly” or blomfeld. blomfeld already has a good handle on who’s behind this little caper. But for good measure, he has also asked his old friend “Stransky” to take a look into this (ie: Stransky is a physicist and an expert in forensic causation analysis) and he’s assured blomfeld that he’ll have the name of this imposter within 48 hours, with a margin for error of “plus or minus” 2.5 hours. Once this imposter has been identified, then suffice it to say that he/she will be “dealt with” quickly and ruthlessly.

He is one of the ones who made some stupid comment about the owners so what he is saying here is a lie, about seeing both sides. If the players had started negotiations last season like the NHL wanted maybe we would not be in this disaster. They were also the ones who didn't want realignment. I don't feel sorry for the players fehr is an IDIOT!

With all due respect ...

There's no question about Crosby being a good guy and all. But the truth is that he does have to walk a very fine line throughout this business. As the "face and voice" of the league, Crosby cannot be either too critical or too soft in terms of his rhetoric towards Bettman and the owners. After all, once an agreement is reached and play resumes, Fehr will be long gone from the game of hockey ... while Bettman and the owners are his "paymasters" who are going nowhere.
