Brooks Laich‘s time in Switzerland is reportedly at an end.

According to the Swiss National League site, Laich was injured in Kloten’s 8-0 win over Lugano. The Geneva Tribune reports Laich hurt his hamstring and he’s headed back to America for treatment.

In 15 games for Kloten, Laich has six goals and eight assists, good for fourth on his team.  Hey, it’s just like being back on the Capitals.

Speaking of which, if Laich is hurt seriously and the league and players’ union make progress this week on a new CBA, that would leave Washington missing out on one of their more important players. That’s putting the cart way before the horse though.

I seem to remember Brooks Laich receiving a crushing blow to the left knee in February last year and walking to his car on crutches before playing the next game.
