What's wrong with blind faith and sticking with your team? Is that not what being a sports fan is all about? I know the state of the Leafs isn't great but I don't get worked up about it.

The reactions sticking up for my team prompts on this site always baffle me. You and those like you must have some deep-seated hatred for the Leafs and their fans or something.

Oh ya, What pieces has Burke put in place to "ensure they'll continue to get better"

Please regale everyone with these "pieces"

I promise you that you will make me laugh as you list 2nd-3rd and 4th line players and C-grade prospects like they are something Burke should be proud of after all this time at the helm.

My god you are just a massive homer with zero objectivity about the Leafs

And there you go, the Leaf fan the proves everything people say about Leaf fans.

The Blind faith, defense and support that has lead to years er decades of apathy and price gouging.

Only a Leaf or Islander fan would ever call Mike Brown "as solid fourth liner" you will find.
Mike Brown would be an AHL'er on pretty much every playoff team last year.

This guy still tries to rationalize the Kessel trade and is still trying to defend Burke.

Ok Ok MrMojo.
Kaberle veto'ed the 2 trades Burke DIDN'T accept....
The trade for Kessel was not crippling and one of the worst in Leaf history and the ship is so much closer to it's destination since Bruke took over.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Leaf fans deserve everything they have been getting since Bill Barilko disappeared.

MrMojo is exactly everything that Leaf ownership loves to take advantage of and prey on.

Komisarek, Lebda, Armstrong = not great.
Brown is about as solid a fourth line grinder as you will find.
Kaberle vetoed the trade using the no trade clause JFJ decided he needed, so not Burke's fault.
I'm not exactly sure what the problem with the Kubina trade was.

He traded three draft picks for Kessel. His ego forces him to say he'd do it again but deep down he knows it worked out as badly as it possibly could for his side. Nevertheless, Hamilton has not played a single minute in the NHL and Seguin would not be putting up the same numbers if he was surrounded by the same talent or lack thereof that surrounds Kessel.

The Leafs probably won't win under Burke but he's put enough pieces in place to ensure they'll continue to get better and contend under whoever the next unfortunate person to land the Leafs GM job is.

Things that Brian Burke does feels adds value to his club.

Signs Mike Komisarek 5 years 4.5 mill per, still paying in the AHL?
Signs Colton Orr 4 years 1 million per, Healthy scratch...while playing in the AHL
Trades for Mike Brown, and then resigns him for 3 more years
Signs Brett Lebda for 2 years trades him after 1
Signs Colby Armstrong for 3 years at 3 million per

Phil Kessel for Tyler Seguin, Jared Knight and Dougie Hamilton for a team that was never a cup contender by adding Kessel.
Just pure stupidity when you consider that Kessel is a UFA in 1 year

There are many more things to add here like the Kubina trade, the failure to trade Kaberle when his value was high, when Philly and the Ducks were both offering much more than he was worth, only to wait 2 years and get half of what you could have received but why beat a dead horse.

Burke sucks, the Leafs will never win with him and that's just the way it is

While I actually might agree with him a little bit...

This statement still comes from a guy who will likely be out of a job if Toronto doesn't make the playoffs whenever we do get under way...
