The thing with the Ottawa Senators is, that they are a relatively new team, founded in the 1990s, they don’t have the attachment throughout multiple generations like the Leafs, Habs, Canucks, Flames or Oilers. It makes sense that they’d poll their fanbase, but this isn’t any reason to look at “Ottwaw”(Great spelling, by the way, Mike) like they are trying to keep all their fans, all they are doing is gauging the issue.

Don’t expect someone with that username to actually have a clue about anything north of the border. I’d suspect knowledge of anything other than the south east of the US is probably not very good either.

The Sens are the one team in Canada I could see support not returning as strongly immediately after a lock out. Mr. Melynk is right about fans leaving. Like him, I dropped baseball after Fehr led a strike in 1994. I am very similar minded this time if the whole season dies, I will drop hockey completely. I don’t care whose is to blame or whose fault it is. F them all.

The Canadian laughing stock that actually made the playoffs, and took the Eastern 1 seed to 7 games. Refresh my memory, how did the Flames, Habs, Maple Leafs, and Oilers do?

It’s official: Gary Bettman’s pen name is “mississippimudslinger.” This has to irk the NHL leadership as it puts a subtle pressure to have a deal done to prepare for a December start. It’s also a move that displaces the blame from the Sen’s ownership to the NHL brass.
