I still think Shanahan deserved the first-year entry way more. No discredit to Mats, but Shanahan was just plain better in nearly every way, and his numbers and accolades dwarf Sundin’s. But, whatever, Shanny’s a sure bet this year.

Ironic that Burnaby Joe and Matts are entering the HOF at the same time. Former team mates in Quebec, if Joe could talk, he’d tell you that Matts was no Foppa then. Especially the disappearing act Matts performed during the Nordiques great 1st round melt down against the habs in ’93.

Um, admittedly not a math major here, so do check my work, but I count 25 shorthand goals by a Mr Dave Keon while wearing the Leafs uniform. I’m almost completely convinced that would be more than Mr Sundin’s 23. And that’s with no totals listed for Keon’s first 3 seasons. (Should we mention Keon’s 4 Stanley Cups? Nah.)
