Let’s not forget that both Bettman and Fehr work for someone. They can’t do anything without the owners or NHLPA approving it. That said, the cancellation of the Winter Classic was a very strategic negotiation ploy by the owners. Up until that point, the NHLPA felt the owners would be motivated to negotiate a CBA more in the players favor rather than lose the millions of dollars in revenue the Winter Classic generates (which would have helped offset the some of losses of the initial regular season game cancellation). When it was cancelled, they realized very quickly not only were the owners willing to lose those revenues but also willing to walk away from the season; thus the sudden resurgence in trying to get a deal done. I’m not agreeing with either side, just an observation as to why we appear to see more urgency in getting a deal done.

I so over all this rediculous NHL drama.

So 2 new proposals and a meeting on Friday…..without the NHL coming out and saying the NHLPA offers were terrible and not even close…..time to break out the jerseys and kick everyone off of the spot on the couch where we leave out hockey season ass indents.

Let’s get-R-done.

As it stands now, I will only loose out on watching games for 2 months. Based of course on when they actually hit the ice. I will, and am, as promised practicing a game for a game position. If you don’t know what that is, then consider each game the NHL keeps from the Dan…then an equal amount of games ‘the fan’ will stay away. Yes I know limited….but that’s all I can do.

Since when do these guys act like adults? I’m neither optimistic nor pessimistic; I’m flat out bamboozled as to why/how these guys have completely changed the way they’re negotiating.
