I think this guy Jonathan Willis of the Edmonton Journal has taken leave of his senses. There is no way in hell the NHL can start a season on Feb 1rst and still play 42 games. The first week of Dec is when we normaly reach the season’s half way mark.

Ah, you sir have taken leave of your senses. First week in December? They’re at 25 games, max. Half way point is always 2nd week-ish of January.

And he’s simply saying condensing the schedule is a little easier than most may think. They would have lost a whole month starting on 11/2 if that had happened and still played a full 82 game schedule.

On December 1, last year, each NHL team had played between 22 and 27 games.

It really takes very little work to fact-check yourself before commenting.

And I’m sure squeezing in virtually a whole season in short order will make for some quality hockey. Uh huh. Riiiiiiight.

Answer: “we’re going to get approximately 70 games” … “next question ?” …
