And how can anyone side with the owners, who are paying players a lot of money but it’s because revenues keep going up. Plus how can they sign so many players this last summer and then say, just kidding, give some back?
50/50 sounds fair, but they should be real about it and get there over a few years.

How can anyone say Fehr ruined baseball? After they had their labor dispute and he finalized a contract with baseball, how many games have they missed due to labor problems? How many have NHL players lost? How about NBA and NFL players?

Seems to me Fehr negotiated a deal that is working great for MLB players and owners.

Kinda my point. He could of just not said anything, or not met with the media at all today (apparently, like Bettman did), but instead, he is STILL trying to put on pressure through the media. If he’s not telling us anything we haven’t heard 100 times, is there any chance the owners haven’t heard it 1000 times?

I HOPE you are right, and a deal is in the near future. But I try to “read between the lines”, and to me, that useless quote is just to say “we still aren’t budging”, and as long as that is the case, there will be no hockey

My theory is the players are starting to feel the pinch of this deal and got in Fehr’s ear about getting back to the table. I don’t care for Fehr or Bettman; I think the blame can be spread. But I’m sick of the process moving backward and everytime those two get on the mic in front of the press that’s exactly what it seems to do.

Kinda, he didn’t do it as blatant as he has before, but that last quote was obviously a shot across Bettman’s bow. Fehr ruins another sport, and there will be no NHL this year, unfortunately

Good. Don’t talk to the media, don’t bash the other side, don’t blow your own horn…just get in that room and get something worked out. Both sides are the enemy of the fans at this point.
