If the only stories he has about the guy culminate with him not even being able to look backwards on the team bus the whole year because he’s scared to do so, that hardly sounds like a guy you’re building a good team bond with.

Even if there are pranks and all that kind of stuff, at some point you have to play with and trust the other guys on your team to help you out. You can’t just scare everyone into playing with you, doing something that at least looks like you care about your teammates tends to help with that.

It might depend on if he was laughing the whole time or giving you the crazy eyes, but you’d think he’d show some sort of team building at some point if he wasn’t a jerk at that point.
