Makes me wonder how many other owners are thinking the same thing without saying it. Which in turn makes me wonder if Bettman really does in fact have the backing of the owners. Could he be on his way out? Please say YES!

Hello, My name is Brendan Shanahan VP of Player safety and Discipline. Since we aren’t playing and players aren’t breaking the rules I felt the urge to get on camera and explain something, anything. On October 31st Eugene Melnyk was involved in an incident where he ran his mouth without permission. I the process he broke rule 1: You Do Not Talk About Negotiations. He also broke rule 2: You DO NOT TALK about negotiations. For his role in this heinous violation he is forced to be locked in a closet with Gary Bettman for 3 days.

This tells me that what we suspected this whole time is in fact true. Not all the owners are on board with this lockout, even if the NHL wants us to believe otherwise. If Ottawa is against this then I am sure teams like Detroit, Montreal, New York, and Boston are certainly against it. Go figure those are teams that actually have a fan base that can support its franchise. Pheonix, Florida, Nashville, and Columbus….

It is ridiculous that they are gong to waste their time with this when they refuse to meet with the players. Melynk is an owner who has every right to say what he wants, he is supposedly directly involved. NHL is a joke, how have the owners allowed this to happen. The majority of them have zero control over what happens with their own business (regarding the lockout), when does this ever happen in any other industry?

Really? You’d meet with an owner of 1 team, but you won’t talk to the players! I think priorities are off big time. Time to get someone in there who will at least have lunch and figure this out!
