Hey! blomfeld, we can disagree on how this is playing out, and frankly it makes no difference how it ends as long as it does. Yes? I’m sticking by our predictions that a season there will be. Yep! It is incredible how much negativity we read here, and contrary to many comments we read yours blend humor, facts, and opinions without cussing at any one. There are a few intelligent comments from others as well. Let’s not waiver from our prediction. It’s not all doom and gloom. Oh! I was wondering this morning how you would react to the news about Captain Brown. ☺

Id4joey – I’m not so sure friend about the ammunition, however I do agree with Rudyard Kipling with regards to the red wine and books ! Seriously though, don’t you also find it odd that here we are at the 11th hour, the so-called “precipice of disaster” and yet there hasn’t been a “peep” from either Bettman or Daly during the past 48 hours ? For me, that adage about “deafening silence” sure comes to mind right ! Now you and I have both been accused by some of the kooks here at PHT for being the same person, merely because we share the belief that there will an NHL season ? Well despite the obvious “idiocy” of such claims, the fact does remain that where we differ, is that you appear to genuinely feel that a deal will be reached through “good faith” bargaining ? I on the other hand contend that this is nothing but a “premeditated plan” camouflaging a “hidden agenda” which includes among other things, a delayed start of the season. I also contend that this plan calls for a “magical” agreement to be announced during the week of Nov 5-10, with a margin for error of “plus/minus” 3 x days. We’ll see about that now, one way or the other. If I’m right however which I believe I am, I would also add that part of Bettman’s little caper here was no doubt to scare the “Bejesus” out of both the players and fans alike. Well there’s question that he’s sure accomplished that, eh ? This season was to have started only three weeks ago from today, yet most here at PHT had already given up hope after just 2 days in ? Again I have to say that I find it incredible how people can let their faith be broken so easily ? Regardless, I hope for the return of NHL hockey “asap” just as everyone else does who posts here at PHT. And with any luck, we should be getting our wish now in fairly short order ! We better be, because I just about puked this morning when I read that Captain Brown is heading for some stupid Swiss yodeling league ?

Looks like some players are ready to start taking best deal available. A few more lost paycheques and the players fall like a house of cards. The union is looking out for the top 10% of players and they are the ones with jobs in Europe. Just wait for enough of the marginal talents to get antsy and vote for whatever they can get just to start getting paid again.

I have decided to become a fan of my AHL team for this season, seeing as it has a number of really nice prospects playing for it. Unfortunately, the broadcast quality is worse than CHL games. Get it together AHL. You have an opportunity to make new fans that you won’t have again for another 5 years and you’re blowing it.

I’m pretty certain my liver is a lost cause at this point(we’re almost into month three of the lockout, and I haven’t been sober since day one), so at this point I really don’t care anymore. Whether there will be hockey is the least of my concerns. Whether I’ll make it to thirty tops the list.
