Neither side is willing to negotiate. Neither side is willing to compromise.

Who can hold out longer? Owners? Players? Who has the most money and can take the hit right now? I think the owners are in a position of power, and there is a deal to be made. The players will have to admit defeat as others have done in other sports. That being said, I believe one day we’ll get the word that the players convinced Fehr to go back to the table and work with the owners proposal to save the season.
