Funny this is brought up now. This is another one of Bettman’s glorious moments in the NHL when he covered his butt by saying that a mysterious memo went out mid-year making the goal legal.
MAnother reminder of how bettman is wrecking hockey….

I have to agree. I’m a Sabres fan and I thought it was kind of funny. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it was tasteless or anything. It’s been over 10 years so it doesn’t sting so much anymore. It would be a totally different thing if he had done this Halloween 2000 or a few years after. Then I would probably be upset.

I am a Sabres fan and I agree that it was a bad call…BUT, even if it was called back, we still had to win that game and game 7 in Dallas(nobody ever mentions this) So for some to say we were robbed, maybe. But it wasn’t stolen by any means. Oh and I think think the pumpkin is pretty funny

The bottom figure is Brett Hull, the top figure is Hasek; it was a very disputed game winning overtime goal in the cup finals. As bigblack can show you above the city of Buffalo is still butt hurt, calling the third all time goal scorer a “chump” is a sign of a tantrum.
