There’s only going to be a season if the players cede their ground and accept the owners’ offer. Here’s another thing folks forget: the latest proposal is only 6 years long. 6 years. That’s nothing. If it doesn’t work out great for either side, you renegotiate afterward. The players are going to have to give in at some point for this proposal anyway, so why delay the inevitable? They’re just losing more and more money, and talk to anyone involved in the previous lockout, they all say it wasn’t worth it. Get over it and drop the puck. Who knows? It may actually work out better than they’d expect. Kinda like the last negotiations.

Advent Calendar ? … Contrived Impasse ? … a Von Schlieffen Plan ?

Call it what you like, but here again we have another person telling us straight up, albeit in code, that we’re now fast approaching the end of what can only be a “contrived and premeditated” delay. Don’t worry friends, as we will have a season ! Anyway, for good measure I’ve re-crunched the numbers and I’m still coming up with an agreement being announced during the week of Nov 5 -10 and a season start date of Nov 15 – 20 … keep the faith people !

This just pisses me off… I’ve heard from a very reliable source that this thing is going to go the distance. Likely not going to see a deal done until summer 2013 if we are lucky.
