I think a lot of people are forgetting that the owners only get 43% of the revenue for the team they OWN – it’s not so much the players LOSING 7% or the owners GAINING 7%, but making a CBA that’s FAIR for both sides and meeting in the MIDDLE.

I don’t know how the marketing of the NHL works specifically but you have to figure that that extra 7% of revenue that owners get isn’t just to line their pockets – it’s their jobs as owners and the overall product of the NHL to market the game and market the players and that comes out of their pockets, not the players…that should only get better going forward, thus generating more revenue, thus making everyone richer in the process. IT’S CRAZY HOW SIMPLE THIS IS.
