Joey, I don’t disagree with what your saying in theory, however you need to research Ed Snider before you say that he is trying to make more money from the Flyers. He’s in his 80′s he just wants another championship before he dies which is why his purse strings are always open for top tier talent. The sticking point is honoring previously signed deals. The B’s, Rangers, and Flyers don’t have a problem honoring these deals the Devils, Preds and Yotes do. The league is being held hostage by 6-7 teams.

broadstreetbeatdown, you’re partly right. Jacobs and Snider are making lots of money. We agree. However, businessmen always want to make more than the year before. That is economics 101. Regardless of the fact that they own a franchise or a lemonade stand. Make no mistake about it, Snider and Jacobs are the power brokers of the ownership team. The stronger your market, the more power you have. These guys are sharing their wealth with the smaller market teams. So, why would they not be interested in a new deal which increases their bottom line?

Their teams make gobs and gobs of money, they don’t give a crap if they have to pay out stupid bloated contracts. The real ringleaders are owners of the crap teams that can’t make a dime. Yes I’m talking to you PHX Coyotes, Vanderbeek in NJ, and the 20 guys that own the Nashville Predators. These are the foks holding up the show because they don’t want to pay out the ridiculous contracts they signed with guys like Doan, Kovalchuk and Weber.

You said it yourself learn to appreciate what you have.
