(Jeremy) Jacobs, the board chairman who is believed the league’s most extreme hardliner, did provide moments of the most levity in the meeting even if unintentionally so, when, according to one player, the Boston owner announced that Bettman has the most difficult job imaginable.

“Gary has the hardest job because he represents both the players and the owners,” Jacobs is reported to have said.

That, according to our mole, prompted Fehr to ask, “Does that mean we can fire him?”

Of course Horcoff’s worried, a lost season means a year ticked off of that laughable $5.5m per contract the Oilers gifted him.. even he knows there’s no way he’ll ever get another contract like that.

it’s a safe bet to think the season is over. We’ll see what happens, I am offically not holding my breath.

Anyone know what the ping pong ball situation will look like. They use the 3-2-1 system post lockout correct? Will be a stacked top 4 this year, teams like Columbus / Toronto / Minnesota / NYI / Colorado / a few others could be in for a nice pay day… I really hope Columbus gets the #1

It must be easy to not work for a year when you make millions of dollars. To bad the rest of us have to work our asses off. The only thing we look forward to is coming home, having a beer and watching some hockey.

The last part is all well and good if you get the right deal but what if you get the deal, or one close to it, that they owners are offering now what did that get you? Lose a season to get the deal they are offering now? The owners will get what they want or close to it. I understand where the players are coming from but I’m thinking too many of them weren’t around last time because I know the owners will wait it out.
