Yeah I’d be screaming like a stuck pig if my boss said 50% of all revenue the company brings in will now go to the workers. I guarantee you that the only “unions” that will complain about this is the spoiled athletic unions. What a joke this is.

Not only can they not define the split, they want the players to pay back the players out of their HRR after a player retires to get their salaries from the first year under the new CBA. Employees paying former employees out of the money that is supposed to be theirs.

Typical D-bag athlete. Mr. Doan has obviously never been held up in his life. After putting us through the summer saga that rivaled Lebron’s “Decision”, he now has the balls to spout off about being held up. How about this players, Let the NHL fire the whole union, bring in replacements from around the world. If any of these guys wants to play they can sign a new contract, if not have fun in Switzerland. I’ll go one better. I say the NHL agree to the 50/50 split and honor the previous contracts but from here on out all travel, lodging, meals, relocation costs, health insurance etc. is covered by the players. This is such BS stop being pansies and play the game.

Guys, this 50/50 means nothing because no one can explain the details of the pie they plan on splitting. So, stop getting hung up on the split.

If you had unique skills that were the basis for creation of all of the revenue, you’d probably do at least that well….because in nearly any other field, you can simply work for someone else.

Majbobby, there’s a big difference between the NHL and whatever business you are in. The NHL can’t run without the players, they are the business and more than JUST employees. Your employer would easily be able to replace you and keep things business as usual. You are not the business or product. Merely a cog in the wheel. Completely different than the NHLPA and NHL situation
