Bettman has been fking Canada over ever since he became commishner of the league. He has kept the coyotes in the desert, even when there was a person to purchase the team and move that team to Hamilton. There is a market for nhl teams in the greater Toronto area, Hamilton, and Quebec city. When the thrashers went to Winnipeg and season tickets sold out in less than half an hour, you could see the disgust in bettmans face having to announce the move to Winnipeg. 90% of hockey fans in Canada hats bettman.

Simply put, Gary is the punching bag for the owners in the media and players eyes….. and clearly Gary is okay with the $8 million salary for doing this.

You should be charging them for risk and opportunity cost, as well as interest. You could be spending that money on something else and you took a risk that Gary Bettman would resort to his only tactic, locking out the players.

That’s a little hard for us season ticket holders. My tickets for the year have already been paid for and I only get money back for canceled games.

Owners are still getting Season Ticket holder money during the lockout. And even though they have to reimburse us for cancelled games they are still able to collect interest off our money while they have it.

Owners still have a revenue stream during the lockout and are still making money. Plus they give you incentives to keep your money for cancelled games and put it towards future tickets. They know what they are doing. There is a reason they are all millionaires. And in the end they could care less about the average fan.

w00 h00! Legalizing marijuana was overwhelmingly agreed to by the NHL, NBA and NFL (ESPN said pro-legalization was “super-majorities”)

Only the MLB had a majority against legalization.

Makes me wonder, do the players know he works for the owners? I mean he has his responsibility in all of this but the owners are the ones who run the show. So do the players know this or not? Are they saying this because they think he’s terrible and it’s all his fault? Or do they know if they went off on their owners it could hurt them when they come back?

if and when the NHL and NHLPA come to an agreement,the fans should boycott the first 10 or so HOME games.you can still watch on tv if you’d like,but don’t go to the games live.
i know this won’t bother the owners and players,but at least the fans can have their say.
