Spot on. The players have already offered concessions but the owners want to completely flip the percentages so they’re above 50%. Bettman got almost everything he wanted in the last lockout (and it cost us a whole season) and now he wants to take back the rest. It wasn’t the players circumventing the cba to hand out absurd contracts but the owners want us to think their hands were forced. They want to have their cake and eat it too.

I’m of the same opinion. If we lose this year I think that should be the least of anyone’s concerns. The owners already took one season away from the players and I feel like the players feel like if they lose another season and possibly more that they think they’re getting back at the owners for the last time. Sadly, it’s a no win situation – if they impact the game that severely everyone might as well start planning revenue numbers to be along the lines of where they were after the last lockout, if not worse, and the owners are going to want significantly more of that pie if they’re losing out on all the revenue they’re both losing by being idiots trying to win a PR battle.

I think we can write off 2012-2013. The players have alternate income and the owners are playing hardball. Both are willing to lose the entire season.

So that puts 2013-2014 on the table. What are they chances we have hockey NEXT year?? I think there’s a 60% chance we’ll have an NHL season next year.

Not both sides. The players are willing to talk about the most important thing, the money, while Bettman and the Board of Governors aren’t. These aren’t really negotiations anymore. The owners already locked out the players. Its give us what we want or you’re not playing NHL hockey this season. I’m on the players’ side. The owners can go and f*** themselves.

Enough with the BS already. Both sides are acting like children already. Just sit down and hash it all out. Its like they can’t be bothered.
If they cared about the game, fans,and the economic aspects they could have banged this out ages ago. This is pathetic.
Why doesn’t the federal government get involved. They get involved in everything else. ( Baseball players on steroids )
