Sure, there aren’t any NHL preseason games in action, but that doesn’t mean hockey fans need to wave goodbye to great highlights.

The spelling of Minnesota Wild first-rounder Mathew Dumba’s name inspires some painfully obvious puns, yet his greater moments might require more positive nicknames.

(Pro tip: start with “dumbfounded.”)

For an early example, check out this ridiculous goal in which Dumba scores – and dekes – from his knees for the WHL’s Red Deer Rebels:

That was pretty impressive. It would have been more impressive if he had actually taken the shot while on his knees, but he got up by then. Even so, I’m glad he skates for my Wild!

The boy’s gonna look good in green and red next to Suter…

I was very happy to see the wild draft Dumba. All along i said he’s our guy!!! I think he would work well with Gilbert not Suter, Spurgeon and Suter are gonna tear it up for the wild. Fyi, if you warched the news the 2nd sunday of the wild prospect camp, i was the guy who got on camera talking about Matt!!!!! Go Wild
