The players are willing to go down to around 50/50. There last counter offer had them ending up around 52%, more negotiating and it will get down to 50/50.

What they aren’t willing to do, and why there is a large divide between players and owners is that the players are unwilling to take salary rollbacks and want a gradual reduction in percentage over time. They feel the owners negotiated and signed those contracts, and they should honor them.

of course it’s all proportional. the fact that both the NFL and NBA players who both just renegotiated their CBAs all went down from around 57% (which is where the NHL is at right now) down to a 50/50 split.

I was just saying NHLPA needs to get off their high horse and realize where they are in the spectrum of pro sports. They way behind the NFL and NBA. They need to go down to 50/50 just like everyone else.

You realize that it’s all proportional, right? As in, the NHL players aren’t asking for the same dollar amount that the NFL players are getting, but just the same percentage of the revenue as the NFL players.

This clown needs to shut up on Twitter. Always quoting what Bettman had said, but won’t answer the question of why players should get a 50/50 split of revenues when NFL and NBA are getting that. The NHL isn’t even close to those 2 sports revenue wise.
