However, I couldn’t have more respect for players that are using this hiatus to put money back into their communities while offering hockey to their fans, even if it is a brief respite. *High paid players taking roster spots in Europe take note, stop taking money from players less fortunate*

As a Vancouver resident who’s “somewhat” passionate about the LA Kings, I will say here and now that Kevin Bieksa is the epitome of “good” people … no two ways about it. In addition to being an integral part of the Canuck’s team on the ice, Kevin Bieksa “the person” does a myriad of commendable activities here for the community at large, which few people on the outside are even aware of. For example, this past year he’s been the spokesman for an “Awareness of Depression” program here in the Lower Mainland. Anyway, I wasn’t even aware of this upcoming game which is going to be held less than 3 miles from my home. But now thanks to comrade Brough, I’ve got this marked down on my calender and so I’ll be there as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow ! :)
