Friends … as the ardent and zealous LA Kings fan which I am, I implore you to “stand down” from your fears of the so-called doom which these rats are presenting. I “can and will” assure you that this is nothing more than a bunch of “make believe” … and therefore as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, we “will” have our beloved game of hockey back before long ! Never forget that there’s a reason why we’re conversing here today in English, as opposed to French or Spanish. For even when faced with adversity “square in the face” in battle, the British “soldier of foot” would never consider flinching for even a second until the word to “fire” was given. So let us be likewise, in terms of our feelings towards these fake negotiations. They’ll be back soon enough, because “they know” that “we know” that they “conditionally” line their pockets with our “unconditional” love for the game !

Every time my favorite sport picks up a head of steam in popularity here in the U.S…….it shoots itself in the proverbial skates. A hole in the ice that they just can’t fix with water. Bettman and colleagues shoot too damned hard, ruin the net, so that NO ONE can play, nor watch. Compared to the other 3 major sports, their potential for injury is not equal to their salaries. Lowest paid and higher risk other than football. Give in Bettman. I want my NHL HOCKEY!

Maybe they should have put aside their copy of “CBA Negotiations for Dummies” and started this months ago. Forget leverage and posturing, because they’re slowly killing the game. The level of hatred for Bettman and his masters is getting out of hand. They might lose fans out of sheer contempt.

Agreed. Part of the problem in earlier negotiations was the NHL saying: We want them to take (for arguments sake) 53%. Then the NHLPA saying: Yeah but their 53% is really 47%.

At least if they figure out what HRR is, they will be talking about the same numbers.

It makes sense to be to do it this way. Why try figuring out a percent if you don’t know what the whole is? Agreeing to a 50/50 split would be stupid if the owner won’t agree to the same Hockey Related Revenue sharing as last CBA. Figuring out what the “pie” is and than working on what amount each side get seems like the only logical way to start.

Bettman and Jacobs wont start hrr discussions unless players are willing to take 15% paycut. it’s no starters for them.
