All commissioners serve at the pleasure of the owners. They don’t get to vote on a CBA (or rules changes or anything else), they don’t get to set terms, they just do what they are told by the owners. Of course, part of their job is to absorb blame to divert backlash toward owners/teams….but that doesn’t mean you need to indulge them.
