Why would anyone in their right mind want to buy the Coyotes? Oh, never mind, I forgot we’re talking about current/future NHL owners, who would rather destroy their own revenue stream rather than share it fairly with the people who create it.

The Oilers have absolutely zero chance of moving, Katz is just trying to hold Edmonton hostage right now.

And as for Seattle being an “untapped sports resource” they’ve got Seahawks, Mariners, Sounders, UW college basketball and football, and possibly an nba team, at best an NHL team would be third in the market but more likely 5th.

My azz the Oilers are interested. They are taking a page from the NFL team playbook…point to Los Angeles, and say to the city: if we don’t get a new stadium here, that is where we are going.

And guess what? They get the new stadium. So will too the Oilers in Edmonton.

Arena supporting a nhl team can be easily resolve. Seattle is an untapped sports market. Build a team and they would come. They had good attendence before super sonics moved and the support for mariners and seahawks is unreal.

Seattle wont have a stadium for at least 2 years that can support an NHL team. The Key wont support an NHL regulation size rink. But being from Seattle I agree they need a hockey team. I like that the oilers look somewhat interested

Seattle is still angry over the SuperSonics leaving. Move the Coyotes to Seattle, name them the SuperSonics. You avoid having to shift divisions, a natural rival with the Canucks, and the people of Seattle have proved to be some of the most loyal fans.

I can understand that this whole thing is quite comical to people outside the desert. First off, Arizona sports fans are the absolute worst, and thats a fact! Just ask Kevin Kolb who was same near crucified before throwing the game winning drive in week 1. Living in Peoria, about 10 minutes from the stadiums, and being an avid hockey fan, I’m just sick of the drama. This team is a good team that has one of the nicest stadiums in the league. The problem should fall entirely on Wayne Gretzky’s shoulders because he tried to run this organization into the ground and move them to turn a huge profit. Since the NHL took over they’ve made the playoffs in all seasons except one. And as far as the city is concerned, there’s no way they’ll be able to keep the entertainment district open at Westgate center open without a tenant in that building for 4games a season. I don’t want to see my team move. They can turn a profit and they are legitimate contenders in the West. And with an owner whose willing to make a splash during free agency they’re a real threat.

Not playing hockey right now was planned from the get go, which is why Betty Man Gary kept extending the deadline for Jamison to purchase the team. And, the owners are saving money by not having training camp and per season games. .
