I thought the only real thing holding the new CBA back was revenue sharing and how the owners want the players to take a cut on their current contracts.

How is it, after all this time, they even are talking about little issues? I just can’t believe what a big joke this is. What the hell were they taking about since they started this process?!

I wont lie, when the NHL is back, I will be watching…. On tv. I won’t be spending a cent on merchandise or tickets!!

the reason why leagues want to have drug testing year around so they have the gov’t and World doping organization off their backs.

Could this lockout have been planned from the get go? Are owners saving a lot of cash related to hockey operations associated with training camp? Maybe the season will start on schedule and there will be no pre-season games.

This could be the players trying as best they can to prevent Derek Boogard cases from happening.

So the league that yields the least amount of positive substance abuse cases wants to expand their drug testing year round. NBA/MLB/NFL players worldwide just crapped themselves hoping that this doesnt get brought up in their next CBA talks.

They also agreed to keep the puck black so a new CBA must be right around the corner.

OK, so the gaping. self-inflicted gunshot wound to the foot is still there, but that pesky hangnail is looking good. Sweet. I think this can, and probably will, break down again in a hurry if they get to the real issues.

Well there two good things about this:

First of all, both sides are talking. It might not lead to anything, but its better then them not talking. Second, these are all issues that have to be taken care of as well. If they won’t talk about economics, or can’t agree on them right now… at least they can get all the other issues out of the way. Would suck for them to finally agree on the economics of the deal, only to have to spend another two weeks getting everything else taken care of.
