a terrific post friend, as what you say is indisputable truth ... however I would beg you to consider that "there is" collaboration between the NHL and the NHLPA ... and that collaboration calls for a shortened season which will commence by the US Thanksgiving Day weekend ... the reason for that is to stem the financial hemorrhaging of at least 4-6 franchises, which would not survive the coming season based on a full 82 game schedule ...

Funny how a player can take a 40% pay cut to risk getting injured and losing even more money in the process, but they can't cut 7% off of the revenue sharing. Seriously? Am I the only one who gets this right now? Well good luck, cause if you think your regular owner was getting fat off of you, your european or Russian owner is taking the farm. Think about jersey revenue as well as tickets and other merchandise. Once you play for that owner they can sell your name on the back of their jersey forever if they want and people will buy out your jersey because they idolize you as a player or because those jerseys will become collector items. Either way your losing money, your losing time stat wise in the NHL, and someone is getting rich off of you because you want a couple grand more. Lol sorry but this all sounds dumb and stupid, but there are people who would die to be out on an NHL rink and make a fraction of what Crosby makes. Not to mention that your contract is guaranteed. Chris Pronger will not play another Flyer game but you bet he's going to get paid his 5.7 million dollars. Good luck trying to find that in the real world. I work as a cop, my job isn't guaranteed. I could be let go of by tomorrow and that would be the end of my salary. Maybe I'll get lucky and get unemployment, which would be a whopping 1300 dollars a month. Yet Chris Pronger, who isn't at his job, doesn't plan to play hockey, help lead, or gives a crap how the Flyers will do this season, but he'll make my entire salary in a couple of hours. Sorry but last time i checked, that's not a bad deal at all. We're not talking about a huge difference, but I do think the NHL in return for the cut salaries should have a financial advisor provided by their team to help them plan out the rest of their lives and help them to make smart choices with the money they do get. I also think the NHL should setup an injury pay scale. Due to certain injuries sustain in the game should be paid to them until their passing. This should be a collaboration between the NHL and the NHLPA.

The IIHF President is "Lukewarm ?

In ancient Sparta, warriors returning from battle with wounds to their backside were considered "cowards" who must have sustained the injury while fleeing from the enemy ... needless to say, they didn't receive the "best" of medical care. And so should the European reception be for these turncoats like Ovechkin. To hell with lukewarm ... I say crank the heat right up and boil these idiots like live lobsters ! Maybe then these parasites will learn a thing or two about loyalty and brotherhood ...
