Why not have the NCAA winner in the US (hopefully Minnesota) play whatever Canada’s version of the NCAA champion play a best of 3. Have them meet in the closest NHL city between the 2, since the arenas will be empty anyways.

the Stanley cup not being awarded is/was a disgrace let alone a shortened season

Thank you. The Cup was intended to be a challenge trophy and if the NHL won’t challenge for it, then is should go to someone else. Wouldn’t hurt as a reminder to the NHL that it isn’t bigger than the game itself.

If the NHL can’t get its shop in order, the Cup should be awarded to the champion hockey team of Canada, as originally intended. Perhaps we could have a tournament featuring the Allan, Memorial, University and what the heck, Clarkson trophy winners! Of course, by then it will be baseball season again, so who will care?
