True. This isn't the NBA or MLB. Unless you're working in one of the top two organizational levels, you're not making more than $100k. And while their salaries may still seem high, keep in mind that these aren't 9-5 jobs - They work an average of 55 hours a week during the off-season.
I wonder if teams are offering any kind of compensation for the employees getting temporarily laid off. Key word: temporarily. So they can't be expecting them to go out and find temporary jobs until the lockout ends...

Thanks nhl. Not only does your bull affect fans but also people doin admin work for you schmucks. The nameless people who file and plod away. But then whoops work stoppage, see you folks later.
I hope this is resolved. Gary bettman is not fit as commissioner. You cant build a sport thats not playing. And with three lockouts under his belt i think thats significant enough.
I think owners have to understand their place. Who makes them the money? Who plays the sport? Screw their provided infrastructure with rinks and practice spaces. If anything i cant blame those players who go overseas to play. Wouldnt you? Get real and off your high horse if you dont believe you wouldnt. Those guys arent going to sit around. It honestly makes the owners look stupid. "well boys you cant play cause youve made us very upset" "yea? Well i know a couple nice spots that would love to have me play so cool by me"
Yea they make millions. I recognize that. But thy also want to play. Why sit around and wait for the fat cats to take a bath in their cash? Id be over in the khl or wherever right now shoot.
To get back to my initial point its just really not fair though to the people who work for these teams. They get the coffee, the paperwork, etc. And now they have no security either. Just unreal. This is like some political garbage.

Wait... Did that last line mention something about thinking of others? That's why there is a lockout. Because the owners just care about their pockets. At least the players are considering those who come after them ( future NHL players).
