It’s kind of silly that the owners would even ask to have contract limits to begin with. If they want to saddle themselves with a player for 10+ years and take the risk that goes with it, by all means have at it. It seems like it’s a poor way to go. You’ll also notice that it doesn’t happen very often. I do think they’ll end up going with a 6-8 yr limit and/or limiting back and front loads to within a certain percentage of each other.

Whatever the case, I’m pumped that the Jets signed Kane. I drink the Chipman/Chevy Kool-aid. GO JETS GO!!!

But I thought the owners were demanding 5 year contracts with equal money in each season? And 10 year RFA periods? They wouldn’t have to sign this contract, he’d still be under their control until 2019.

I’ll give the owners credit for this: they REALLY don’t care whatsoever about public perception of them. They’re completely fine with looking like hypocrites and scumbags knowing that they’re still rich and we’ll still come back when it’s all said and done.

No Fans equals NO REVENUE, which means no salaries for players. Who wins, NO ONE. Oh wait, the fans WIN, we save our hard earned money. Hmm, just saying. Tic, toc, that’s your NHL career passing you bye.

As fans, we need to call Comcast, Directv, and Dish Network demanding a partially monthly refund no NHL games on the NBC Sports Network.

This way the fans don’t get screwed by the players or owners.
