I’m not biased at all, I just see him for what he is. He’s still a really good player but he certainly should not be the highest paid forward on the team.

you’re obviously biased. point is, 6 million for 60+ pts from one of the few real power forwards in the league is entirely acceptable by today’s standards. just because you don’t like him doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be getting contracts like this given the other contracts floating around out there. You need to separate your dislike for him with the reality of the situation. contract isn’t a stretch at all.

why stir the pot. give him what he would get on the open market and be done with it. make a statement to the guys in the locker room that this group if kept together is capable of even more success. this teams greatest assets are its long term cap position and flexibility related to external variables such as the CBA nonsense, this deal by no means jeopardizes any of that

Hockey flow is right. Derek1113 has got it in for Krejci.
Krejci is only 26. Continues to be an impact player. He makes 4 mill. Bobby Ryan will get 7 and Yandle will get resigned.

I love Lucic. I think he may have his draw backs. He DOES TURN IT OVER MORE THAN ANY OTHER PLAYER ON THE TEAM. he had droughts. But his mean streak, and his ability to skate as close to a resemblance of a freight train is very very rare. He has a wrist shot that is unbelievably fast and hard. I mean, you can’t see it fast and hard And Seguin is pretty strong but no way a fighter. Who is gonna mess with Seguin when Lucic is on the ice or the bench. Let’s be honest. More than 1 million for Any professional athlete is plenty of dough. So paying Lucic 6 mill….well, that’s the way it is. Kinda like paying $4.50 for a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Yeah, who would have thought. $4.50 for a coffee. Or 24 mill for Roger Clemens to pitch 12 games for the Yankees. Makes Lucic look like a well paid man. And it makes PC and Neely look like they are sticking to THE game plan.

This is the type of contract that causes a lockout. $6m for a turnover machine. I like having the guy on my team but for him to be the highest paid forward on the team and second highest on the team is ridiculous.

He has loooong stretches of complete ineffectiveness, (playoffs), and at times, seems to forget the basics of hockey.

I am a fan of Krejci but the writing is on the wall. He will be traded for either Bobby Ryan or Keith Yandle. The B’s are too deep up the middle and it is time for #19 to play his natural position.

I really like the play Milan Lucic brings to hockey. He reminds me of Basil McRae for some reason, maybe its just the #17′s or their good fighting!

I’m so glad to see Lucic resign because he was one of many who would have been a free agents on the Bruins within the next 2 years.

Krejci out of town??? You can’t slam Jacobs, PC or Neely by over paying Lucic, and then go on to state something like Krejci is getting shipped out of town it just makes you sound stupid twice. Krejci is an under valued property of the Bruin’s. He is the silent play maker like Pederson was for Middleton. Like Ratelle was for Espo, like…awe heck, there is no reason to prove Krejci to you. Go watch Basketball

Ugggg!!!!! Way, way, way over payed for him! For a guy that takes shifts, games, weeks off and disappears in the playoffs? And when Seguin moves up to that first line center, after they ship Krejci out of town, you are handcuffing him making him play along side the much slower and clumsy Lucic. So frustrating.

I can understand the argument that 6/year is a little too much for Lucic but I also think many of the people who complain about Lucic are the ones who have unreal expectations for him. I see a lot of people in Boston complain that he isn’t Cam Neely, like Lucic said himself that he was the next Neely. The guy is unique in what he brings to the table and that can’t be argued – 6’4″, 235, changes a game with his physicality, can fight when he needs to, and puts up 60 pts a year…while only being 24. He does hit funks occasionally but that doesn’t change the fact he still puts up 60 pts a year. Also, what goes unnoticed a lot is the importance of role players on any team. The Bruins are stacked with role players and Lucic is one of them. Teams win with role players, not a bunch of high end talent thrown out onto the ice. It’s why guys like Thornton are so important…same with Hartnell on the Flyers. Even if he put up only 30 pts, he has meaning for that team.
