Another last-minute deal: Islanders lock up Martin for four years

Getty Images The New York Islanders signed defenseman Matt Martin to a four-year contract worth $4 million, according to ESPN-NY’s Katie Strang.
Much like last minute deals such as Evander Kane‘s six-year pact, the Isles locked up the restricted free agent just before the current CBA is set to expire.
Martin scored 14 points and collected 121 penalty minutes while averaging a bit more than 12 minutes of ice time in his 80 games with the Isles last season.

What a slap in the face with all these signings. Sad today for hockey today. 3rd lockout begins now.

With the lockout official does that mean it’s really a 3-year deal for $3 mil?
