Getty Images Barring some sort of miracle, fans could learn Thursday that the NHL is headed for another lockout.
The league has called a press conference for tomorrow (3:30 pm ET) in New York City that will follow its Board of Governors meeting – a meeting in which the owners could approve a lockout.
The CBA between the NHL and NHLPA expires Saturday and, last we checked, the two sides didn’t appear close to making a deal.
Prior to this afternoon’s meeting between the owners and players, union chief Donald Fehr told reporters: “We have some things to tell them.”
Chances are it’s not “we give up.”
