“You hate to see that. The players genuinely care about the fans. We’re fans, as well.”

As far as I can tell the players (and, obviously, the owners) are fans of money and little else. Certainly neither side is a fan of compromise. Hmmm, where have I seen that before? Who says sports doesn't imitate life, especially politics?

“Another extended lockout would be terrible for the fans; it’s just going to be a slap in the face,”

And NHL fans are some of the biggest masochists on the face of the earth.

The only way fans can send a clear message to both players and ownership IS TO STOP SPENDING MONEY ON THEM!
STOP buying jerseys, bumper stickers, coffee mugs, and all the other swag; STOP buying tickets to the games (whenever both sides decide to DO THEIR JOB and start playing again).

But, the flip side is... where are we going to see the quality of hockey presented at the NHL level? Bootleg some KHL games on the net? Not even close...

So, when the players and owners decide to extract their heads out of a certain orifice on their respective bodies, we'll all go sprinting back to the arenas or tuning our TV's back to our local RSN's (or NBCSN), and start supporting them again. Since they pretty much know we'll be back after they get done pouting like two year olds, what's their motivation to make a deal right now? NONE!

In the meantime, go Cincinnati Cyclones! :-)

That's the smartest most accurate thing any ones said since a potential lock out debate started. Ian White great player. Wish he was still a shark

“Another extended lockout would be terrible for the fans; it’s just going to be a slap in the face,”

Pretty much sums up how I feel!

I am not blaming either party but this is getting flat out stupid. I have never seen two sides struggle this badly in 20 years compared to any other organization / union, in my life.
