Report: NHL, NHLPA “likely to get together” on Wednesday

The NHL and NHLPA are “likely to get together” before the NHLPA’s huge player meeting on Wednesday, Bob McKenzie reports.

A new offer from the players is also possible according to RDS and Aaron Ward, although McKenzie said it’s too early to say if that’s true.

The players discussed “negotiation options” for about an hour and a half today, according to Ward.

RDS reports that NHL executive Bill Daly “expects some movement” from the NHLPA before tomorrow’s player-specific meeting, which is expected to include roughly 300 NHLers.

This development comes a day after the NHL and NHLPA exchanged barbs on a variety of subjects, including a canceled labor board meeting.

Take your time fellas it’s not like we have a looming deadline or anything! What do you care it’s just the fans who suffer the most, and no one cares about them……as they are the ones who allow you to haggle over a few pesky billion dollars.

I don’t even want to begin to think about the financial impact to each city is. Has to be millions per city, per game.

I cannot believe the owners and players can’t meet in the middle with thing. The league was doing well, and to risk alienate fans again, could be disastrous to the game.

This is the saddest thing ever, hockey is at its best in years. What can we do as fans to take the job away from the commissioner? Three lockouts in less then 20 years, last I checked no other league has ever seen such atrocities. What is going on with the fastest sport on two feet? I can’t believe this………………….

If they strike or are locked out I’m done with hockey. It took me along time to come back the last strike they had. I’m done.
