The pens knocked the flyers out too. The only difference is when they did it they actually finished their objective (winning the cup). So to quote the famous words of max talbot “shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh”. Also back when you guys did win cups in 1975 with the broadstreet bullies the whole slashing incident would of been the mildest thing out there.

phranksta, You keep making referance to Pittsburgh fans being new to “This hockey stuff.” Both teams came into the league in the same year (1967). Do I think Sid whines? Of course I do. Did I think Gretzky whined? Of course I did. Did Donovan McNabb whine? Of course he did. The point is almost all the great players in all sports. We need to be thankful that none of them where Tennis or Soccor players. Giroux and Sid are both great players but both do their own share of whining. It’s the way of most superstar athletes. Let’s agree this is about the lockout and I think we agree that we all hate the idea of another. we can settle the whining disputes by beating each other during the season and playoffs.

Chrizmo, first that quote was made after their April, 1 meeting.. Secondly, your claim that people think this way because they’re jealous is just delusional. There are several NHL franchises just as successful, some having superstars, and they don’t get the sane criticism. The Pens were easily bounced in the first round.. I’m not jealous of that.

Brayden Schenn diver? Can you provide one example of him diving? A real dive, like a good ol Kris Letang dive. Weird because when think dirty I think of Matt Cooke.. You know the guy who’s regularly regarded as the dirtiest player in the league. Crosby fights eh? Like when he jumped a 175 lb Brett Maclean off the face off? When he punch a player in the groin while Letang held him down? When he fought Giroux after clearly waiting for the linesman to jump in (then refused to go with players his size like Simmonds or Schenn)?

Again, everyone hates Crosby outside of Pittsburgh for these reasons. Fans, journalist, opponents, and coaches have all come out about. You don’t see the same backlash against Stamkos, Datsyuk, Ovechkin, Toews, Giroux, or any other superstar.. Why is that? Again I know you guys are relatively new to this hockey stuff but don’t be delusional..

Unfortunately Nickleback has a contract with the NHL..

funny how all the people who don’t have Sid on their team constantly complain about his whining and diving. seems like a coincidence?

the Pens are hated because they are good, marketable, and get so much media attention. it’s okay to be jealous, even to comment, but don’t get upset when you get some of the trash talk thrown back at you.

Did he used to dive and complain to refs yes. Has he done it recently. No. Hes been in more fights then giroux and has played through some pretty tough injuries early on in his career. When i think of diving i think of brayden schenn. When i think of dirty i think of chris pronger. When i think of whining i think of all the fans who love to hate on crosby. You always hate the winners which is why my feelings are just neutral on giroux.

Seriously it’s a joke.. You’re sensitivity amazes me. Every fan base besides Pittsburgh has accused Crosby of whining, being a cheap shot artist, not displaying toughness hockey fans love, diving, etc. Let’s not pretend at least some of this isn’t warranted. Anyway, at least we both can agree on one thing, no lockout.

Great piece…. Seriously though Cindy herself admitted to swinging her stick around, slashing Giroux in the hands multiple times (no penalty of course).. What’s wrong with stating the obvious? Giroux will get his awards and cup.. It baffles me how Pittsburgh fans pretend to not understand why everyone around the league and their fans dislike Crosby.
