It is impossible for me to side with anything Mike Ribeiro says so the NHLPA should put a muzzle on the gutless punk. He represents so much of what is wrong with the NHL in terms of integrity and style, I can’t imagine he has a clue about its finances.

League is making lots of money, the owners just aren’t sharing the profits. Pool all local and national TV money and divide it out to the 30 teams. Problem solved.

Players need to realize that this isn’t about their wallets alone. The NHL needs to be sustainable and healthy (like the NFL) and the players salaries will continue going in the right direction. The players gave 24% in the last CBA and look how much their salaries have gone up since.

I”m gonna agree with jernster. It’s not like the players are guiltless here. They have an offer on the table that will make them all very wealthy at a very young age. I don’t really feel bad for them that the financiers of the business paying them millions want a greater return on investment, but will still pay them millions.

The precedents already been set, regardless of what the players give up or concede to the owners …. the owners will just ask for more the next time around.
