I’ve been to the garden for a game or 2 with son….fans were great throwing beer and dropping f bombs at me and me son as we sat quietly watching the game in another teams sweater. But, the bright side for u low life B fans is u can move u to at least a tie with the worst sports fans in the world. Filthydelphia! Go red sox!

And yes, I’ve been to a game in Montreal, back in the days of the Forum. Nice place. Fans didn’t like me ‘cuz I was louder than all of them combined. After the game, which the Bruins won, the B’s fans took over St. Catherine St.. Much fiun was had by all.

Also, the clipping suspension was a little ridiculous. He clipped people because the league was concentrating on headshots and not calling clipping. It’s a dirty move, sure, but the league was highly inconsistent in calling it.

how so? We won the cup – He was very important part adding another 11 goals in the playoffs (as a rookie) He has improved each of his first two seasons. 25% of his rookie year he was on the 4th line and worked his way up. Who cares about the Red Sox – NOBODY thought they would do anything this year. Nobody. Two years, maybe, but not this year. it’s also Baseball so again, who cares. 4.5m for marchand from 25-29 is well worth it. lets look at some other off season signings:
Fisher 4.2 (8 years older 43g vs. Marchands 49G)
Hartnell 4.75 ( Hartnell)
Simmonds 3.975 ( same age 42 goals last two seasons 49g for marchand)
Pacioretty 4.5 (33 goals last year- a steal for the Habs)
Turris 3.5 (1 year younger career high 12g)
Semin 7 (same amount of goals past two seasons 49)
Voracek 4.2 (one year younger career high 18 goals)
Versteeg 4.4 (two years older 46g to marchand’s 49g over past two seasons)
Oshie 4.1 (a year old and 0 20 goal seasons)

like it or not Marchand is right there. Pacioretty has the best (team) contract there. He is a very good player and should have got 5+ a year. this is only looking at goals too. He had the highest +/- of all the players here and is one of the Bruins best penalty killers. You are delusion by thinking he’s not worth it. As a B’s fan I hate Pacioretty and Price but I am not gonna tell you Price isn’t worth 6.5 cause he didn’t make the playoffs. It’s ok to admit when good players on teams you don’t like sign good contracts.

People in markets outside of Boston only get exposed to the dirty antics because that’s all the highlights show them. First impressions last forever and once you get labeled ‘dirty’, people stop using their eyes and start blindly labeling everything that player does as ‘dirty’. There are way more players in the league dirtier than Marchand. Marchand actually has some skill though so he is in the spotlight more. Combine being in the spotlight like he is with everyone’s (wrong) assumption that he is just a rat, and you get the Marchand haters. It’s easy to turn a blind eye to all his goals, his creativity out there, his incredible fore-check, and his physicality when your mind has already been made up that he is only a dirty player. The guy is awesome..deal with it. NHL players dont get signed to contracts like this unless they have high-end value.

Pepper – 100% right. The majority of the time, he is playing great hockey. He is one of the better forecheckers on the team, has great hands, physical, etc.
